What is a calorie deficit? A calorie deficit occurs when the amount of fat burned is more than the calorie supplied by the food you eat, and the result is fat loss. In plain language, when you eat 2,000 calories of food a day and your body burns 2,500 calories, that is extra 500 calories is burn from the excess fat in your body. SO for us to lose weight, we must eat in such a way that our body continues to burn extra calories every day while we lose weight over a period of time. And we can do this by eating foods that will reduce the level of insulin that is being produced in our body. These foods are foods that contain complex carbohydrates (rich in fiber vitamins & minerals), vegetables (contains micro-nutrients that boost immune system) and plant based proteins etc. These types of food reduces the secretion of insulin (that fat storing hormone) in your body.
