What is being asked of innocent citizens is to act contrary to their innate biology and instinctive response. The when being threatened by an authority figure that has power, guns and clubs, ones heart will pound and adrenalin naturally goes sky high. Our reaction to that is Fight or Flight, (I think that there is a third, Freeze). So if you get in that situation with a cop, if you fight or flee or just freeze up and dont obey their commands, they think they have the right to take you to the ground and handcuff you, simply if they get any impression that you are resisting their commands. Why in a situation where there is no clear and present danger to the Police or other citizens, can not the cops just say: We are going to back off for 5 minutes to let us all calm down, you say here and dont leave, and we will stay 20 feet away before we approach you again, when we are all calmed down? Do cops really need to be obeyed immediately, when there is no clear and present danger?
