What is it about lyrics, Daniel Maté, and music, Will Aronson, that make songs stick in your head long past the time you would expect? In my case, 40+ years. I have the kind of commute that makes it possible for me to listen to the entire soundtrack of Funny Girl on my way to work, and today I found that despite not having listened to it for a good 15 years, I was word-perfect in my sing-along. Pitch-perfect, no...but every word was there. I was a die-hard musical fan from a very young age and Barbra Streisand was one of the first formative influences... my role model for who I wouldve been if only I could carry a tune ;) Me, never a musician, except in my dreams, but always a lover of the finest things the ear can hear. Just remember: A chicken or a duck is a mistake.
