What is it to judge? This is a question I have been struggling - TopicsExpress

What is it to judge? This is a question I have been struggling with for the past 6 months; asking myself if I am judging people or protecting myself with observations. We learn from our own and others experiences. I know people who have been scammed or taken advantage of because of their trusting nature. I think it is wrong to judge but can it be considered the same as self preservation from observations? EX: One does not put their finger back in the fire after it has burned. Lord knows some of us have forgotten the food is hot or the pan is hot. We have all heard: “Well it came out of a hot oven what did you expect”. LOL Yet fire remains the obvious choice for analogy. They tell us not to judge because it is wrong. I don’t think it is wrong if observations match similar situations in which you or someone you know has gotten “burned” by similar behavior. Ask yourself if you look at someone and assume something from the way they are dressed or the way they talk are you judging? They might mean you harm or they might just have a story that will bring you to tears. ~~~“To form an opinion or estimation of after careful consideration” (see definition below). ~~~ I think the first definition is what we should aim for. Not falling for quick arbitrary thoughts; while still remaining wary in situations that bode poorly from learned experiences. Have a great day all.
