What is proper beach etiquette? Today Im sitting in my beach chair, alone, no umbrella, just the bare essentials. Nice little family group to my left, well spaced from me. Two ladies near right, but quite a lot of beach in between. As I sit there, I suddenly realize that I can hear the voices of a gaggle of young women. Sidebar: when did young womens voices become so gravelly? Or shaded with Valley? Anyway, they seemed not loud, but close. How close? Well, when I got up to leave, I realized that one of them had the back of her sand chair about two feet from mine. Theyd set up camp right behind me, when twenty feet of beautiful beach was to my right. WTF? Another foot or two and Id have been in the middle of their group. Rude, or oblivious? Or, wait a minute, was I having a moment of invisibility? That happens to me, but usually its when Im in line. Enjoy the view, ladies. Glad I didnt block it.
