The one thing that took all my courage and strength was the day I woke up. Instead of living like a victim waiting on a hero to come in and save me, I became the hero in my own story. I walked into the police station and filed the report. Instead of living like a whipped dog I pressed charges against the man (ex husband)that abused my oldest and I. I never backed down despite the backlash from his family. Ounce I found my strength, it never left me, and to this day we are stronger than ever.
