What is the use of installing water taps when there is no water in borewells? There is no water in borewell, there can be no water in borewells since there is no recharge. All roads are tarred, all urban home vacant spaces are cemented including city market, how and from where groundwater can get recharged? This is sheer common sense. Unless Palike and BBMP adopt roof top water harvesting and recharge the public borewells and private borewells, no one can find groundwater. This will be fate of even Vidhanasoudha / Vikasa soudha in future. Perhaps then oru policy makers will understand the importance of groundwater recharge. Till then this situation continues. This is unfortunate. The State has several intelligent Geologists and hydro geologists. The state should consult them and implement groundwater recharge programs in letter and spirit to help common man and to help themselves.
