What is tourism? What is tourism development? What is tourism management? The face of tourism in the world differs from destination to destination. There is need for us to dialogue to stop our tourism experts from wasting public funds in the name of promoting tourism. Sending pilgrims to Jerusalem and Mecca is religious tourism. Sponsoring people to Jerusalem or Mecca is not promoting tourism in Nigeria. It as an act of generosity on the part of the giver. I thank Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for his yearly train ride from Lagos to Osun State. I only wish this was tied to a tourism development package. This will help to create a new face for tourism in Osun State. The book A new face for tourism in Nigeria by Femi Robinson will soon be released to the public. Watch out as he confirms that some states in Nigeria have been sitting on gold mines all these years.
