What is wrong with a school board member voting to approve a resolution. Nothing when viewing it at face value. If you will go to Lakewood local School District web page and on the Board of Education page you can look at the approved minutes of the regular school board of April 10, 2013. You will find resolution No. 199-13. APPROVE THE RECOMMENDED CLASSIFIED SUBSTITUTE CONTRACTS FOR THE 2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR. Under this resolution you will find in numbers 3, 6, 7, 8, That board member Bill Gulicks wife is listed. So Ms. Gulick was hired as a substitute for multiple positions. No problem with that. The problem is that as a board member he was allowed to vote in the hiring of his wife. A direct violation of ethics and is a conflict of interest. Many things like this and much more goes on. Maybe next time I will talk about the school treasure writing a check for close to $18,000 dollars to a contractor with out having a invoice. A violation of the by laws of the Lakewood School District. I still have all e mails and documents pertaining to that.
