What is your favorite CHARLES DICKENS novel? You are allowed to vote for FIVE (5) in the all-important numerical order, but you can restrict your response to 4 down to 1. With the weekend half spent, Id like to offer up a second polling that will overlap with the cinematic one now in progress. The Victorian Age literary icon Charles Dickens was unquestionably the most beloved English novelist, and after Shakespeare the most venerated English literary figure with the masses. Famed for his exhaustive readings -some in the US- and for creating some of the most colorful characters in literary history, his books remain supreme favorites in middle and high schools, and his works have been made into films and television mini-series repeatedly over the years. Dickens works were originally releases in serial form, with a chapter by chapter roll out in British periodicals. Even for people who read little, Dickens is one that has transcended this reluctance, and many can readily recall when and where they read specific classics authored by this titanic man of letters.
