What kind of a raise are you getting? During the Legislative Session, state employees were granted pay raises and/or adjustments that will be effective on October 1, 2013. Here is information about the raises and how it will be reflected in your paycheck. Across-the-board raises, effective October 1, 2013 All employees employed on or before September 30, 2013 are eligible. Employees making $40,000 or less will have their annual base rate of pay increased by $1400. Employees making more than $40,000 will have their annual base rate of pay increased by $1000. Special pay increases, effective July 1, 2013 Inspectors and command staff in the Inspector General’s office who are law enforcement certified and who are employed on or before June 30, 2013 are eligible for a special pay increase. Eligible employees with less than 5 years of cumulative state service as a law enforcement employee will have their annual base rate of pay increased by 3%. Eligible employees with 5 or more years of cumulative state service as a law enforcement employee will have their annual base rate of pay increased by 5%. Bonus, effective June 30, 2014 Funding is provided to award 35% of eligible employees a one-time, lump sum bonus of $600 (before taxes.) In order to be eligible, an employee must have been employed prior to July 1, 2013 and have continued to be employed through the bonus distribution date; must have had no form of sustained discipline from July 1, 2013 through the bonus distribution date; and have received at least a 3.50 performance evaluation score on the performance evaluation conducted for the period July 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013. Peer review is required to determine the 35% of eligible employees who will actually receive the bonus. Details of the peer review process are still being worked out.
