What people in US think about India and Indian ? US is one of those countries which has fascinated India for long, their culture, movies and presently shows are widely loved by Indians. It wont be too wrong if it could be said that Indians love and to some extent worship US. But, how do the people in “land of dreams” percieve India? To find answer to his question, a couple of Indian-Americans carried out an independent project. The answers most of people gave were corresponding to the way India is viewed in popular culture- an exotic legend, with delicious spicy curries and overwhelming slum poverty. Most of the people were highly influenced by Danny Boyles “Slumdog Millionaire” and there views were similar to the ones portrayed in the movie. However, there were some who had travelled to India and had seen the real India, its colorful culture, religious zeal and popular historic tourist destinations. Incredibly, there was also one woman who turned out to be a huge Shahrukh Khan and the way she talked about him, would surely bring a smile on the faces of Indian cinema affectionados.
