What swaps would people offer me for my mk1 Jetta ? 1983 Mk1 Jetta Started life as a 1.6 Non turbo Diesel 10 months ago I put a 1.9 Td Aaz from a mk3 golf ( very common conversion ) Since the conversion car has been used as my daily and has been very reliable car and keeps up with modern traffic , Ive put over 9k miles on the car since conversion and had no problems Car turns heads where ever it goes , people stop to take pictures or want a general chat about it . While the engine was out I replaced : Cambelt Water pump Clutch + bearing Injector seals Crank seal All gaskets All seals Water pipes Radiator Gear lineage rods Expansion tank bottle Fuel lines Fuel filter Break fluid Oil filer Oil Oil pick up Sump gasket Oil pump Front disk and pads Topmounts Cv joints all round Bottom arms ( both sides ) Bottom ball joints ( both sides ) Trackrod ends ( both sides ) Bottem arm bushes ( both sides ) Front Pollybush engine mount Passenger side engine mount Gearbox mount Rear break shoes Rear drums Rear wheel bearings Exhaust straight through 2 with stainless back section + more I have over £1300 worth of receipts for replacement parts Anything that has needed to be replaced has been no expense spared The conversion is very tidy no random / messy wiring Modifications : 1.9 Td Aaz Engine Coilovers Jetta Arches ( genuine ) 2 straight through exhaust Quarter light opening windows Us heater control panel Momo wooden steering wheel Rear camber Chassis Notch 1.6Gtd boost pin Fuel pump tuned Condition : Overall condition off the car is very good considering the car is 31 years old Its orignal paint but is showing signs that its wearing thin Few car park dents 2 small rust blemishes ( nothing to worry about ) Car has never been welded Orignal interior in very good condition other than rear seat headrest have sun damage I wet vacd the whole interier not so long ago so is very clean no dirty stains Everything works as it should !! Even the heating 🙈🙊 Have massive amounts off pictures If needed
