What the military still really has to watch out for is propaganda campaigns in any area of the world they have a base or a consulate, worldwide. And they do. There is a significant psychological element to both guerrilla warfare and terrorism. There have been plenty of criticisms of operations conducted. Although there are still many issues to resolve, those criticisms have led to warranted changes in the protocol that the U.S. military operates with from the backbone of the military to the highest-echelon of military officials.
