What to do if employer still has not renewed the WP long after it expired. Ques: What about the situation of one member here she msg me this afternoon and ask what she can do,, her working permit expired two months already and they recieved a warning letter last march 09,, since i dont know what to advice to her,, i choose to comment it here so all of you can give her advice for what she can do,, Ans: It is employers responsibility to renew your Work Permit (WP). MOM sends them a reminder to do so. Employer is also responsible for paying for and repatriating you back to your country if they do not transfer you out and they do not want to continue with you. If employer failed to renew your WP and it is already expired, then you are NOT in trouble. MOM will send few reminder to the employer, employer will be fined and WP will be renewed by the MOM once employer pays the fine and provides a justification. In worst case, if employer continue to ignore the MOM reminder then employer can be jailed and perm blacklisted.
