What two days this has been.. Went to Vellore yesterday to collect evidences of corrupt practices followed in housing scheme allotted for poor people in villages and successfully collected 13 concrete evidence of it, then met the local BDO and put him on notice that we are there to kick their arse, then went to meet the SP, the Collector of Vellore even if we couldnt meet them, we made sure they know that if they dont investigate properly we have the proof to expose them. Came home late last night and while coming back heard about the tragic event in Stanley Medical Hospital. 18 patients who were put on dialysis, some of them on their last dialysis before getting a kidney transplant have been signed a death warrant by the doctors there by infecting all of them with Hepatitis C virus, which has no cure and plenty more are at risk of getting infected. The past two days the hospital management have tried to cover up this whole murder by their callousness their negligence, their corrupt practices and absolute lack of disinfecting or sterilizing procedure. They tried to get rid of the patients asking them to go away to other hospitals and refused further treatment, by telling them all sorts of lies. Today morning went there with few social warriors and pretty much terrorized the Chief Doctor there and made sure proper treatment is given to all the affected patients without any money, then met the RMO tore him to shreds coz he tried to defend the hospital by blaming the patients saying the virus could be transmitted through saliva and airborne ways which is an absolutely lie, so I asked him if that is the case then why were the patients not quarantined and why are they allowed to mingle with thousands of patients and visitors in the hospital, then we learned that the Dean of the hospital took a week off as holiday after this incident came to light, so now we have planned a protest until the Dean and the health minister comes and give assurances to provide full treatment to the affected patients free of cost and take care of every expense borne by the affected families for food and stay till the treatment is over which will last up to 50 weeks. Also those who are responsible have to be punished and legal action should be taken, if these demands are not met then they bought themselves a war. Will keep you all posted. P.S.
