What was astonishing about yesterdays Presidential debate is that the impunity with which presidential Candidates from SFI and AISF continued there shamelessly absurd slander campaign against AISA... It made me angry yesterday but after a good sleep I can only laugh at the sheer NON SENSE value of the statements : SFI Candidate: ============= 1. SFI had contributed 70K rupees to the Mujaffarnagar Riot victim relief fund therefore it is the most committed defender of Secularism. Where as the relief teams sent by AISA led JNUSU is NGO Style gimmickry. 2. SFI candidate repeatedly claimed that it was SFI that made the hostels from Tapti to Chandrabhaga....The AISF candidate contested it vigorously....After BLAME GAME we have CLAIM GAME between erstwhile partners in crime of selling the campus to Nestle. 3. By the way both SFI and AISF agreed that they did not participate in the DERA DALO movement fought by JNUSU on the Hostel question. They claimed that since it was fought during holidays therefore it was a GIMMICK and their firebrand commitment to student rights did not allow them to participate in a movement during holidays... SFI -AISF has really given an alternative to AISA model of Politics: Vagueational Politics= Occasional Politics with Scheduled Vacations with free and endless Vagueology. AISF Candidate =============== (Aside) The AISF candidate can give heart attacks to A. B Bardhan and Sudarsan Reddy. 1. Dhikkar hai un organizations ko jo apne nam ka parwaha karte hue humse alliance nahi kya....Hum kisi communist party ke nirdesh pe nahi chalte (oops) humare decisions socio-political situation se tai hota hai.....Bechara Communist Party of India, its own student organization is stating that CPIs policies are not governed by the socio-political conditions of the present context and therefore AISF has to abstain from taking directions from CPI.... 2. She had the guts to say that AISA and CPI-ML had Chandrashekhar Ko marwa Diya.... and RJD ke saath alliance Kya.... Ha HA for last 25 years CPI is in alliance with RJD...they tried forming alliance with JD(U) in last election.... But obviously the AISF candidate isnt bothered about facts. For in the present socio-Political context of JNU only slander can keep them alive. Indrajeet Gupta was a minister of the Govt Supported by RJD and its killer MP Shahbuddin..... CPI continued to remain in that government without even formally agreeing to debate the murder of Chandrashekhar in the parliament..... 3. She said that CPI-ML made alliance with Ranbeer Sena....obviously they site the peace initiative that was undertaken by CPI-ML to stop the battle of attrition between upper caste armies and Dalits as a political move to isolate the Ranbeer sena and mobilize the the civil society in favour of the struggle of CPI-ML. But obviously how with the AISF candidate understand such aspects of struggle...The Patna University President of AISF was an ardent supporter of Brahmeswar mukhia.... Strange are the Ways of SFI-AISF ...But I must say they give us the necessary comic relief in the election season.
