What we are taught: do well in school to get into a good college. - TopicsExpress

What we are taught: do well in school to get into a good college. Get a degree so you can find a good job. Work hard so you can buy a house, provide for your family and build a good retirement. Sounds like a solid plan. Reality: Spend the majority of life in debt paying for the things you think you want or need. Work 40-60 hours a week for someone else for 30-40 years to live on a small percentage of what was made in your working days after you retire. What Ive found in this rat race so far is that under the current scenario, making more money usually comes at the cost of having less time to enjoy the things for which youve worked and the people whom you love. Does anyone relate to what Im saying? One thing Ive learned over the years, and something that is becoming more and more acutely evident in my life RIGHT NOW, is that wealth is not measured in dollars and cents, wealth is measured in time; and success is not something you achieve, success is something you attract. School, college, jobs, career changes, successes and failures...Ive experienced a lot of it in a short time, and enough to recognize the direction my heart is leading me. Im excited for this journey to transition to the future I know is mine. One that will be better for me, for my family, and our lives. Soon .... when you find a way to make a living doing what you love and investing time with those who matter most, regardless if the money is more or less, then you are truly living life and investing in what matters. Time and people. Maybe it goes against the grain, but Ive always marched to my own beat... not about to stop now.
