What we have here is another young dog, scared, lost and not knowing what’s expected of him as he’s sitting in a cage at Brooklyn ACC. Certainly, Ozzie has his youth and good looks going for him! And he was in decent health when he was found as a stray in Brooklyn. But after only three days, Ozzie was taken into a strange room with a strange person for his behavioral eval. All things considered, Ozzie did pretty well. He got so excited that somebody was finally paying attention to him that he kept jumping to try to lick the assessor’s face and hands. And when that strange dog came into the room, Ozzie rushed over in a friendly way thinking it was a new playmate. What Ozzie didn’t like was that hand taking away his food or his toys or the rawhide. For that, ACC has decided he can only be released to a New Hope rescue. And for whatever their reason, they’ve also decided to put Ozzie on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. So tonight, Ozzie is looking for that one person who looks at him and instantly understands what he needs—reassurance, a safe place, and learning how he can please his humans. If you’re that someone, start applying to foster or adopt Ozzie. But do it now—tomorrow, Ozzie will leap out of his cage thinking he’s off on a new adventure but this time he’ll be gone forever.
