What were the big turning points in your life? I have many. They include: * facing many big issues! social justice, other cultures and religions, and gaining an international perspective on life through living, volunteering and adventuring in Pakistan for a year when I was 21. * breaking out of a naive middle class 8-5 conservative religious upbringing and work life for 1989 by going to Drama Action Centre in Sydney (and other places and experiences) that awakened and extended my creativity and introduced me to a variety of alternative ways of living, thinking and being. * having a job for four years in the area of NSW north of Sydney where I worked with loads of youth and groups in doing experimental creativity awakening and community projects. Misfits Creativity Camp each year then and beyond was a great incubator for social and creative experimentation. * going on a deep healing journey for many months in 1996 (and a number of times over the following years) in South Pacific Private hospital - a healing community of deep insight, great learning, many expressive therapies, and lots of learning and empathy through going on the journey with dozens of people who were facing and working through their brokenness. Not easy, but to not go on the healing journey would be worse. * discovering and learning social ecology at Hawkesbury campus of university of Western Sydney. Huge new direction for my life with an alternative-style course that was intellectually stimulating, emotionally engaging, welcoming of creativity and at the time many of us students created a strong community of care, fun and love. Loved being out of mainstream education and life with a vibrant alternative community of great richness and vibrancy. * becoming Fusion Internationals lead clown and clown trainer for community building festivals during Olympics and soccer world cup in Greece, Germany, China, South Africa and England... and hopefully more. There are others, but that is enough for now... Time to find the floor and benches in my house and rearrange the chaos into clarity! Id love to hear of some of your turning points in life.
