What would you do if you were asked to slap a girl?! A social experiment clip that has gone viral has forced many people to ask this question of themselves. This clips shows the responses of several young boys... One boy saying he wont slap the girl because he is a man. Men are often stereotyped as being masculine, dominant and strong. Im sure you have all heard the saying he is real mans man... To me, a man is a man when he knows how to respect every individual - male and female. To treat every person with equality and to stand up at the times when it is required and appropriate. A man is someone who isnt afraid to #speakout and #shatterthesilence for violence against women. When the men of our society can take this step and play their part in the prevention of VAW then they have truly earned their title! Along with speaking out, the key to assisting in the prevention of violence against women is through early education and implementing campaigns that our community finds relatable and that they can actively participate in.
