What you may think are inane comments by some of you in CORD - TopicsExpress

What you may think are inane comments by some of you in CORD /JUBILEE armies can inadvertently alter the lives of us non aligned mere mortals so radically and not your intended targets of politicians. Take the example of this Kalenjin friend of mine who during the heat of Sabasaba moment on Monday posted something on his wall to the effect that, Kalenjin married women are traditionally encouraged to secretly solicit lovers to sire for them kids in addition to those by husbands such that in case the husbands lineage is cursed, the man will have some seeds to represent him. Of course the punchline of that status was he hoped that Ida, Railas wife had done something like that cos Raila is cursed according to him. Unfortunately that comment has so haunted me that the relationship to my Kalenjin colleagues and family friends will no longer be the same again.. eg my colleague Kipruto with whom we slave with as spare lecturers in some mundane college, pretending to be a university, the wife is a pristine Kalenjin traditional woman with their simplicity of scarf and no make up. She has always been warm to me in greetings whenever we meet in the street and usually asks how my handsome son Troy is doing. The problem is that the question about my son has lately spooked me since Monday after I knew of such traditions and have gone through self torture wondering whether that is the cue or sign that she wants my seed. If thats the case, then what a wasted opportunity to sire with her an award winning marathoner!. Then there is this Matron Cheruto my missus colleague at Kisii level 5 Hospital who has frequents my home as one of my wifes friend, she also bring us tea leaves when she visits her home in Kericho. She once told me that I remind her of hubby who is a soldier in Langata Barracks. . or the petite Chepkorir at Kisii Primary who insist on hugging me whenever we meet. She however is married to Kisii and I wonder whether the curse can affect inter-tribal marriages.. I swear my life is now muddled up unless somebody reassure me otherwise.
