What you say to yourself MATTERS. In the sports world today, an increasing number of players and coaches are getting “mic’ed up,” where they periodically wear a microphone so the everyday sports fan can get a glimpse of what is actually said in the heat of competition. It makes fans feel like they’re part of the action. What if you were mic’ed up everyday, not for what you say to others but what you say to YOURSELF? Would you be proud of it? Would you be comfortable putting it out there for the world to hear? Would you want your kids or spouse to hear it? Most people would say heck no. What you would tolerate from others is no different than what you should tolerate from yourself. If you wouldn’t tolerate someone telling you that you’re fat, ugly, stupid, incapable, hopeless, afraid and worthless, then stop tolerating it from yourself. Demand better. Demand that the way you speak to yourself is exactly the same as you would want someone else speaking to you. You deserve that. - from Outperform The Norm (go buy the book on Amazon already, would ya?)
