Whats interesting is that what a lot of the Tea Partiers are claiming as proof of their success (pushing the GOP to the Right) is very similar to points Ive made about Occupy that one way we could be seen as a success (depending on your point of view) or at least having an effect was in our success of changing the national dialog and I do believe that both Obama and the Democrats shifted leftward in a reaction to Occupy (and also take more of a firmer stance on issues such as gay marriage, etc.). Also Ive read articles that cited us as a factor (without endorsing either side) in Obamas reelection. Interesting too because other then their midterm election success; overall Id argue that the Tea Party has been more a liability then a success to what they truly want/helping out the GOP (Ill bet thats the one real do over the GOP wishes it could have back). In fact without the Tea Party the GOP candidate this last election (whoever it was) would have had a likely walk on victory. That could be good or bad depending on your point of view but Occupy (without endorsing either side) was cited by some as a factor. Also I think Americans overall are much more aware of how money has truly permeated politics because we did a good job of getting information out there to the American public.
