Whats on my MIND? FACEBook asks…lemme tell ya. I WROTE THIS IN RESPONSE TO A FRIEND ON A POST BELOW TODAY. I am tired of being told I am fortunate or thats great, but what about the less fortunate?…. I do agree that I was fortunate enough to be born healthy - physically and mentally and I had enough intelligence to learn by example…sometimes my parents example and sometimes by watching others. But I was in no way born fortunate. I was born to a child bride (a southern 9th grade dropout of intelligence, thankfully) of 14 to an immigrant man of 24. Glenda Sue (my momma, may she rest in peace) turned15 years old less than two months before she birthed me and my dad, (a cruel man, unkind man, and a dishonest man), knew no english, but immigrated LEGALLY, and worked in a Doggie Diner in San Francisco for $68 bucks a week at the time when I was a baby. He would be prosecuted as a child molester now. I watched, I learned and I was given the gift of resilience and a drive that still baffles me. I thank God for this every day. I wasnt fortunate. I made my fortune, girl. I took Gods greatest gift, LIFE, and made smart decisions. My brothers, on the other hand, are both pitiful. PITIFUL, making every bad choice on the planet with the very same parental influences and the benefits I had. We make our fortunes. I think it is high time to get rid of the compassion we publicly exhibit because it is bullshit. There is no the less and the more fortunate unless you are born physically or mentally disabled. Life is what you make it. Every single choice has a consequence. Your life can be beautiful or it can be shit. YOUR CHOICE. Fortune cannot be blamed or exhalted in this example….even if you have been kept in a prison for years, once you get out - you become responsible for your behavior. I love you, friend, but this liberal rhetoric is wrong. DOES ANYONE ELSE JUST HATE THIS BULLSHIT the less fortunate?
