Whats on my mind: the tens of thousands of elderly who live in nursing homes - who have no one to hug them - no way to pay for dentures - who eat only canned fruit no fresh - who cant kick back with a plate of sharp cheese by a creek whenever they want...this is why for 27 years I have been a geriatric nurse practitioner...that I might be the one to hug on a cold dreary day - or give a pair of nice warm socks when family just stop coming...that my wonderful nurses aides bring fresh fruit from the farmers market with their minimum wage pay...if anyone just wants to make a huge difference - hug a senior; they think its Christmas just if they get a visitor!
