Whats the point of telling people you have autism, Erin?...Youre so high functioning that you dont have to....Everybody has something theyre dealing with....how is autism any different? This past week, really the past two weeks, I have had no choice but to depend on the kindness and grace of others to float through my days and manage my job and home. Ive been depressed. Genuinely, physically challenged and mentally depleted. If I cant be open about who I am and what I face, I look like a lazy, uncaring, selfish human being. Being able to say, I am autistic. Everything is really hard right now, but be patient with me, Ill come out of it. is all that keeps me in a job, in a family, in friendships and in life. Yes, everybody is dealing with something.....and everybody is welcome to educate me on how I can support you. We are in this thing TOGETHER....We have to know some of the hard details to help one another.
