Whelp, I spent the day in the ER. Last night my BP was around 193/103. Not good. I managed to get it down a bit before bed time but I didnt sleep well. I could feel my heart pounding out of my chest all night. I got up this morning and immediately called my doc and got a 9:00AM appt. Once I was there they ran several test including an EKG. The EKG had shown that not TODAY but at some time in the past I had some sort of a CARDIAC EVENT... I told the doc that I had previously gotten a bad test and a follow up turned out to be good to go. He decided to also do a follow up EKG and it came back with no evidence of a previous cardiac event. YAY... BP was still in the sky somewhere though. So they decided I should go to the ER and have it all tested again. Finally at the ER and the test began. At one point my BP had skyrocketed up to 203/108... EVEN MORE NOT GOOD. So blood was taken, another EKG taken which came back as no cardiac event. Also blood work also came back GOOD for no enzymes that would be present in the event of any cardiac event.. YAY!! So whats next... A tiny pill... Just a tiny little pill. I cant remember what it was right now but I downed it with a little cup of water and we waited for about 3 hours. The BP cuff was set to periodocally test my pressure.. OH and Denise was with me the whole time. We watched as each BP test came back a little lower, and a little lower and a little lower until BOOM I was out like a light. Sleeping.. Resting... At the end of it all my BP was at 108/67.. AMAZING! I did feel a little groggy though but that was okay. So my meds for HBP are now modified and I am doing very well right now. Better living through chemistry! Also eating better than I have been as far as sodium content. Will be following up with my doc in a few days.
