When Australia had a mass shooting in 1996 (the Port Arthur - TopicsExpress

When Australia had a mass shooting in 1996 (the Port Arthur massacre in which an a gunman killed 35 people and wounded more), their government promptly reacted by enacting stiff gun restrictions. In the subsequent 17 years, they have not had another mass shooting. In the United States, we have mass shootings every month, but we do nothing about it. The difference? Australia has a functioning government. Ours is dysfunctional and is manipulated by special interest groups like the NRA. How many people will die before any gun restrictions are adopted?
