When Calesta ( Cleo Sheridan) was a baby I would put something I wore alot, (ie: flannel shirt, summer dress), in her crib so she would smell me. Moving her into her crib at nap time and later for night time was easy. I then did it when I went away and as she got older she would choose the clothing that smelled like me. I would often find things missing and look in her bed and she would have one of my articles of clothing. We called them momma binks. I still highly recommend it to parents as they transition their babies/children. Today I recieved a txt from my lil baby girl who has now had two nights in her own place and she wrote me this: Im gonna come steal one of your things that smells like you. Makes a mommas heart all soft and cuddly. Of course I am now wearing my very old flannel shirt (Thank goodness for air conditioning), so whe can smell me when she comes to steal it. Motherhood is soooo sweet.
