† When God Comes Calling † For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Esther 4:14 ESV Esther was not ready for the task that Mordecai was asking her to do. To go into the king’s presence uninvited was a death sentence. There were so many things that needed to be done and plans to be made. This is not the time she thought. But Mordecai told her that if she kept silent, God would use someone else. So Esther went forward and God used her to save her people. Many times when God calls us to do something, we start making excuses much like that. “I am not ready yet. I am already too busy! There is so much I need to do. I need to get my life straightened out first, then I will do it. I really do not have the time. My life is a mess! I am not good enough. I am not smart enough for that!” On and on we go. When you feel God tugging on your heart, do not wait. Do it then. He will cause you to have all that you have need of, and when He is with you, who can stand against you? Do not try and “put your house in order” first because the enemy will see that it does not happen. When you start walking with God, that is when your life will come back together. When God comes calling, do not make Him wait.
