When God starts to do something in a certain sphere, be it in the - TopicsExpress

When God starts to do something in a certain sphere, be it in the life of an individual, family, church, or nation, the enemy starts to fight it.The only way to get rid of the enemy is to continue to raise the stakes and mount more pressure on him in the realm of the spirit through cumulative prayer. This is exactly what Moses and Aaron did. Therefore, after the plague of frogs which the sorcerers of Egypt counterfeited, God gave more instructions to Moses. “And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt. And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt. And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: there were lice upon man and upon beast. Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God.” (Exodus 8: 16-19) In every circumstance, Satan’s abilities are finite. There is a limit to which he can extend himself and after that he just cannot operate. On the other hand, God’s power and abilities are limitless. How interesting! After all the copycat methods of Jannes and Jambres using demonic power, they hit a blank wall and had to confess with their mouth, “This is the finger of God.” Jesus, many years later when He was slandered that He had cast out devils through Beelzebub, the chief of the devils, made more powerful statements about the operation of the same finger of God about which Jannes and Jambres had referred: “but if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: but when a stronger than he shall come upon him. And overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.” (Luke 11: 20-22). We see Jesus state the fact that he cast out devils by the finger of Almighty God, and then He speaks further about spiritual warfare— that the enemy will not budge until someone stronger overcomes him and kicks him out.It is expedient that we wage war in the realm of the spirit to take back that which is ours and gain new territory in Jesus Christ. Even after the defeat of the sorcerers in Egypt, there was no let up in God’s onslaught against the powers and principalities that ruled the land. Satan, under intense pressure, wanted a negotiated settlement. But God, through Moses and Aaron said, “No deal.” The original demands stand fast; “Let my people go.” And, the people had to come out of the land of Egypt with all their possessions and great wealth. Many times, we pray, putting the enemy under so great a pressure that he is forced to play one of his deceptive cards. He allows us to have a small breakthrough in the area we are praying about, just to get us to stop praying and relieve the pressure on him. It is a sad fact that many of us bite the bait, not realizing that we could have had a greater victory if we had tarried in the place of prayer. In Egypt, the plagues continued until the enemy was totally defeated and had to let the people go. Even then, Satan tried to counter attack at the shores of the Red Sea; and the same rod which had dealt so effectively against him was used to break that counter attack. At last, the prophecy which God had given to Abraham at the cutting of the covenant had come to pass— but through warfare. If Satan and his forces had not been challenged in the heavens, the people might never have come out of Egypt. ~ PUSH
