When I am frustrated with Autism struggles and realities, I often vent to my friends/acquaintances on FB. I appreciate those who listen, pray, and send words of encouragement. Well Today I want to report on PROGRESS that has occurred in the last couple weeks!! John and I have heard full sentences (for Ethan), independent thoughts, he has been answering some questions without prompting, and he has been verbalizing requests!!! He still has a lot of echolalia & a LONG way to go but the progress in such a short time span fills my heart. My Gratefulness and Thankfulness extends to all of the teachers and people in his life that help him achieve these milestones! It also extends to those who pray for him. Also - for those who treat him like he is an average kid & does not stare or treat him different when they realize he isnt the average kid. (side note... there is no Normal child) Isaac has been a great big brother. He wrestles with him, gets him in trouble, etc. like any other sibling. Isaac also helps me chase him, so he doesnt get lost or run into traffic. Isaac questions why God gave him a brother with Autism, which is normal. He worries about Ethan being bullied when he gets to Owen Marsh. He stresses b/c his brother cant live in his action figure make believe world, knocks his legos down, or ruins some obstacle course he constantly setting up. Isaac wants an average brother, like his friends have.I cant fault him for that, but he truly tries to understand that God gave us Ethan for a reason. Isaac has to wear some big shoes & I am proud of him God Bless All of You for loving my boys & Keep Ethan & Isaac in prayers.
