When I embark on a new music video project I usually dont say much about what I am working on until its released. This time I decided to share in more detail with you as we progress. A music video may seem like an easy process… rock stars show up, roll camera, play the song, then the big wrap party at the end of the day and everyone gets drunk and does lines of coke off strippers butts! Yay! Not. It takes weeks of prep, coming up with basic ideas that might work with the lyrics of the song (most first ideas suck, lol), roundtable discussions with all the crew involved, writing, scripting, story boarding, location scouting, actor auditions, costume fitting, prop building, set design, lighting (lightbulbs bursting on you and glass shattering down over your head… yes this happened), troubleshooting, makeup, wardrobe, etc etc etc… Its an amazing process. Especially when you are creating a living piece of art with amazing friends and talented people whose artistic abilities are incredible. So far, two days of filming are completed. Day three tomorrow. I will be posting short little clips from the HEAD TRIP SUPERSTAR - Lets Get Medicated - so you can get a feel for what it is going to look like when its done. (There will be no sound on the clips I post) All of the band members will have featured roles in the story line of the video…this first clip features HTS drummer James Raub in role not so unfamiliar to him ;-) Enjoy!
