When I first came to Kingman the churchs were isolated, separated and doing their own thing. And then came the golden years where we talked as Pastors of the Church of Kingman shared ministry, partnerships, we talked to each other, referred people to other Pastors churches, we agreed on how to nurture, train and even discipline erring members back into loving church communities. We called each other on the phone when people would show up in our churches from other churches out of respect and deference to our fellow brothers and Pastors. We agreed to believe the best about one another and not be so quick to believe the first report from a new attender or visitor. I long for those days again where we shared ministry, felt comfortable ministering in one anothers space and buildings, partnered freely in regular Kingman Ministerial Association events and were truly good friends with one another. My beloved and gracious wife, (Cheri) and I have been here going on 21 years now, and honestly, it grieves my heart to think of all the people that have gone out and from our church and our churches in Kingman on an endless quest for the perfect church. I have been reminded those good people were never MY sheep, I am just an under shepherd of the Great Shepherd of the sheep. I cant speak for you, but it is my firm conviction that not only Manzanita Baptist Church but the church in America desperately needs another Great Awakening and a true Holy Ghost revival. For the reader of this note let me go on record, if I have offended you, alienated you, disappointed you, fell short of your expectations will you forgive me? I am not perfect but I am forgiven. If I see you in Safeway, WalMart or on the streets of Kingman will you go out of your way to give me a greeting as I promise to do for you? Can we do any other? Eternity awaits but until then I want to live in peace, love, unity and a mutual respect within the community I live in. How about you?
