When I first started working for Local 16 IATSE, one of my first - TopicsExpress

When I first started working for Local 16 IATSE, one of my first jobs was low on the totem pole at Industrial Light and Magic. When Dan Michalske gave me the call, he described it thusly... Some amazing artisans creating incredible special effects for big movies... and youre not going to be doing any of that. Youre going to be cleaning up their messes. One of my first days on the job, just a few months into working for Local 16, doing work Id never done before, I walked into the Market Street shop and Robbie Edwards was the first person to ask my name and introduce himself. Come to find out Robbie was a super~established guy out there and at the top of the heap of a fascinating group of professionals... and he immediately helped me feel comfortable and fit right in! That continued my whole time there. Even though I was the guy cleaning up... everyone made me feel like I was doing an important job that helped them do theirs! No one, more than Robbie! He made an immediate impression that day... and I have always had fond feelings and admiration for him since! Please take a look at this event and I hope you find yourself wanting to attend/contribute in some way!
