When I gathered on that sunny Kansas prairie 2 years ago to say - TopicsExpress

When I gathered on that sunny Kansas prairie 2 years ago to say goodbye to woman who assumed the role of mother for a broken, damaged, abandoned child when no else would, I believed that goodbye was the end of our journey together. Instead, there was one more adventure, one more lesson together that we would embark on together. My mommas death started a journey that I honestly did not want to be on and one that I fought to not be a part of but eventually I gave in to the inevitable and as the song from Wicked goes: I have been changed for the better. . My priorities were so off the course I should have been on and with guidance I am finally on the path I should be on. As many times I have uttered these words, it hasnt been till recently till I was able to fully grasp the meaning of these words: its not the amount of money that we have amassed or the material items we own that matter: its love, pure and simple, that will define our lives whether it be family, friends, our belief in a higher power, or combination of all three. So if there is any advice I can give you today: , love more and be vocal about. Reevaluate your own life, listen to your Creator, and start to change the course of your own life if need be. It a change you will not regret, I promise you. In the end I believe this is my mommas final lesson and even as my heart is still filled with the pain of her loss, there is gratitude for role she continued beyond her earthly responsibilities as my mother. xoxo - -MDS
