When I have children they will be taught not to be made to feel guilty about something they didnt do. You can feel sorry for people in a bad situation, you can and should be empathetic. You should be able to learn from history so as not to repeat it. You must be able to tell good from evil, from the facts. However, just because someone who happened to have had the same skin color as you did something awful, even if it was last week, does not give someone the right to associate that persons actions with you. Even children understand the feeling of how unfair it is to be punished for the actions of others. Its cruel and reminiscent of petty bullying. My children will not be grouped in with people who acted or act inhumanely just because they share the same skin color. They will not share the same story, they will not share the same lives. Being called an ignorant white devil for things I have nothing to do with is so frustrating its almost funny. I was raised to be kind, to treat everyone as an equal, and so I will not allow for someone to drag my name into the dirt for things I was not and am not responsible for.
