When I originally wrote this tune, I felt it was a complete throw - TopicsExpress

When I originally wrote this tune, I felt it was a complete throw away since, musically, it really didnt do anything except have an interesting bass part. When I started recording various parts for the song, it grew on me a little, especially when it started to get into a slight psychedelic realm. The song is basic and I remember I wanted to keep the lyrics as quick and simple as can be. And with that, I succeeded. The fun, for me, came when I was manipulating the lead vocals. Instead of recording the drum part first (which is what I usually do) I recorded the rhythm guitar and lead vocal at the same time, mixed directly onto one track. By doing this, I had much less control of working on the lead vocals. I figured this would be an issue once I overdubbed all the other instrumental parts, so I overdubbed another lead vocal, adding an edgier layer to the vocals. I honestly think I was thinking about Ernest Hemingway when I wrote this tune. This is song #75. LADY LUCK LADY LUCK SO SWEET. LADY LUCK I SEE. LADY LUCK SO BEAUTIFUL TO ME. LADY LUCK SO DEAR. LADY LUCK SO FINE. LADY LUCK WILL BE ALL MINE. WE WERE SO CLOSE. EVERYTHING WENT WRONG. OH HOW I WANTED YOU FOR SO LONG (ZIP, ZIP, ZAP) (SOLO) LADY LUCK WAS HERE. LADY LUCK IS GONE. LADY LUCK HAS LEFT ME FOR SOMEONE. Written and performed by Wayde K. Brown & The Santairs Copyright 2014—All Rights Reserved Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.
