When I read this story, I am marvelled how Mr Thiaga and team had helped to establish Tamil language in Singapore and how they encouraged the parents to enroll their children in the schools then. It must have been their passion for the language that gave them the strength. Their work then had kept the language alive today. I am embarrassed that I lost the Tamil language proficiency . Thinking back, I used to take part in story telling competition in primary schools and speak Tamil fluently. How did I lose the language power? I have not done justice to the efforts placed by the pioneers in this aspect...so so..I will try to improve my Tamil language..little by little...thanks Mr Thiaga for sharing the history of Tamil schools and how the language was promoted or even sold to the parents then...you have made me realise that it is the duty of every Tamilian to keep the language alive for now and the future.
