When I realised my chicken and beef hadnt defrosted AT ALL in my fridge after following all guidelines and exceeding the time period .... I was devastated. Held it together and saved the day by using a cold ham joint and a pack of cooked sliced (reduced price) beef. The meal for me and my 3 family members was as good as any Christmas lunch when you add in the pigs in blankets and meat based stuffing. The gravy (of which Ill modestly say Im a master of lol) was enriched by the liquid from the steamed veg. All in all delicious and a success ... but phew !! A close shave ;-)
