When I was 9 years old my life changed. I didnt know where my brother and I were being taken, just that we were going to meet our new foster parents.(At 3 I was taken from my mother and put into foster care.) My brother and I moved houses and schools all the time so we were literally in the dark to where wed end up when our case worker dropped us off. In turns out, I was taken to the Chick-fil-a Headquarters to S.Truett Cathys office. Before I met him, I didnt stay with one family for more than a year,with the exception of one horrid family. I was exposed to and experienced things no child should endure. Meeting Truett was probably one of the greatest blessings of my life so far. Moving to Tennessee was beyond scary and I had no clue what to expect. What I received was stability, love, and a starter kit for life taught to me by Lidelle and Jolene Hare. If it wasnt for Truett, there is literally no telling where Id be right now. He gave with zero expectations. He told me his favorite verse was Proverbs 22:1 and its always stuck with me. He had many possesions and things but above all he cherished his good name. Im forever grateful to him and forever proud to be a WINSHAPE kid!! Rest in peace Grandpa Truett. Thank you for everything.
