When I was a kid, my Girl Scout troop had a retreat in a building on the grounds of Talbot Hall. We had rubber egg fights (soaked eggs in vinegar) and we went swimming off of Little Sandy (or maybe it was big Sandy). Friends and I road our bicycles through the parking lot and around the grounds. I canoed, rubber rafted, and water skied within sight of Talbot Hall. All those things I did without understanding the significance of the home and the surrounding land. It is important that Talbot Hall be preserved, but, sadly it looks as if it will not be.
