When I was away I had several moments of epiphany. But the biggest one happened when I, after changing my shirt in the bathroom at work, ran out to help grind down a line. Well when I did this, I left my prized 160gb iPod classic, filled to the brim with music, literally 29,188 songs, on the paper towel dispenser in the bathroom. Well i ran back there in a damned near panic when i felt how light my pants were(lets face it,I work in a gas station and pay child support, my wallet is filled less than a Rasas stomach. It weighs less than my iPod did by far) I freaked out. I got pissed. I assumed that one of our drunken, dope fiend customers had stolen it and was out trying to pass it to get a 30 rack and a 20 rock. While that probably is what happened, I had to step out of my head later that night. I caught myself planning to put the word out that there was a hundred dollar reward for it, and when someone bought it back to me i was going to bury a blade in their throat and as they drowned in their own blood, i was gong to use these battle maces that i was born with to crush their skull. I needed to get out of my head. First, I was planning murder over something that was malfunctioning. I was planning murder, not to protect my loved ones or defend myself, but because of a possession. Me, the guy who is always talking about people over possessions and not being attached to things, especially things made with slave labor. Would that be the person Id want my daughter around? Would that be the best example for my nephew? How much do I love my family if Im willing to risk a capital murder charge, just to prove a point over a piece of metal and plastic. I stepped back, and decided to just let it go. I had become a hypocrite and needed to be mad at myself. I decided to look on the bright side. Maybe in the pass off, someone turns it on, and hears some new artists they enjoy and some life changing tunes. I know it isnt what happened, as no one knows who Treble Army, The Good People, Doomtree, Scroobius Pip, Sage Francis, Agnostic Front, Earth Crisis, xGATHERx, Shelter, Bloodlined Calligraphy. Despised Icon, Bad Brains, and 7Generations are in this town anyway, besides my close friends of course, but it is a possibility and stranger things have happened. So I took my own advice and just let it go.
