When I was eighteen I was just getting out of high school and making the transition into college. I was in trouble and at the start of a two year long bout of heavy drinking and half assery. I literally wanted to be the love child of Quentin Tarantino and Hunter S. Thompson, writing poorly conceived homage to them. I wanted to be a screenwriter. I wanted to be cynical but I was idealistic in spite of myself. Now at 22 I live in Brooklyn, New York. I work as a lighting consultant and as a gaffer here and there. I recently interviewed Brian De Palma. I want to be idealistic but Im insanely cynical. Im actually doing the work Ive always wanted to, but it doesnt make me as happy as I thought it would, which just makes me think nothing will make me happy. Despite all of that I have great, loyal friends and I continue to meet great people. I also trust things will ultimately get better for me, everything will run its course.
