When I was finally released I walked out of the jail with everything from my wallet, purse and tote bag dumped into a clear plastic trash bag. It was almost 100 degrees outside and no shade anywhere. I sat on the curb across the street from the jail putting my stuff back together. A guy came out of the jail and crossed the street to where I was and I asked him if there was somewhere I could get something to drink. I think it was called the Venetian, they had a Starbucks inside. I had a frappuccino and it was so good. It was cold and I was so hot and thirsty. I talked to Jamie on the phone and she said what it seemed everyone wanted me to do. Just get on an airplane and come home. I practically screamed at her that I AM AS WEAK AS A KITTEN. HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO DO THAT? I then got up went into the restroom splashed cold water on my face brushed my teeth and then talked to the concierge. He called the EMTs who took me to the hospital. While there they gave me an IV, fluids. The DR said it was not a hotel and I could not stay there. I asked for water and someone said not until the tests were all done. Finally I looked behind the bed I was in and the bag was empty. I put on a pair of converse tennis shoes that were in my tote and then pulled out the needle in my hand. Of course blood spurted everywhere, didnt expect that. So I went into the bathroom and got some paper towels to stop the bleeding. When I got back to the bed I apologized for the mess and she said it was ok they see it all the time. So I walked out of the hospital still thirsty and asked the guy in the lobby area who worked there for water and he said there was a water fountain down the hall. I just walked out the door and it was about 1:00 in the morning and pitch dark. That was the first time I realized I was not in the same hospital as the first time. So I looked left and right, since I could see some light way off to the right I headed in that direction. I found a place to sit behind a convenience store on a main road. There was a big rock surrounded by gravel. So I sat down with my back against the rock, there was a tree and I could see the moon from where I was sitting directly in front of me. So I started going through my stuff. I was thinking I would just sit there until the morning. But I looked over and I saw a cockroach coming out of the gravel and before I knew it they were popping up everywhere! I jumped up and ran screaming into the lot behind the store. After I recovered from that I went into the store and got a diet coke with ice. I made some phone calls about rental cars, no luck. She pointed me in the general direction of hotels and said it was about a 3 mile walk.
