When I was on my way to Makkah to perform Umrah, I asked Allah SWT to help me make the best of my time there. In Makkah, in our ghetto hotel, we had no wifi so I didnt use facebook or youtube on my phone at all in Makkah and because of this, Alhumdulilah I had so much time on my hand to do whatever I wanted to do there. When I came back, its amazing how my productivity went down so much after just getting access to internet on my smart phone again. Its times like these we realize that how your ibadah and your level of khushoo/concentration is greatly affected from something as small as limiting your time on the internet/smart phone. When was the last time you rushed your salah just so you could check a text message/whatsapp message about something that was obviously no where near more important than standing in front of your Creator? When was the last time you got up in the morning, checked your facebook before thanking Allah SWT to witness another day to repent? Sometimes the hurdles in your life to achieving your spiritual and worldly goals are right in the palm of your hands but we dont realize it until we see how much more efficient we can be without these hurdles that are in our control to keep or not. This is a reminder to myself before anyone else. May Allah SWT help us overcome our hurdles and put barakah in our time. Ameen. `Ideal Muslim
