:: When I was younger, I remember family gatherings being so much fun. Maybe I was just too young to notice all the discourse. Everybody came. Anybody was welcome. And everybody had a good time. In the last few years Ive noticed that there is always some underlying drama, people with chips on their shoulders, and less and less people show up. It seems less like a family gathering and more like a group of people who happen to be related sitting around complaining about what so and so did, who didnt bring what, and what so and so is wearing. I think the people who arent showing up are the smart ones. Who wants to spend their holidays, days meant for happiness and celebration, with a bunch of miserable, complaining people? I dont. I can think of a so many different things to Id rather do like catching up on my DVRd shows, sitting on my big comfy couch in the a/c. With so much to be happy about and grateful for, why so miserable?
