When I watch this video, I dont think of a promotional video, or a video to show off. I think of what possibilities this video will present to us here in the East Coast Dance Community. It was the intention to spark a light in a dance scene that seemed to be on its last legs. With many moving on to begin new careers and follow their own paths outside of dance, it looks like our community is starting to fade away... I mean lets face it, some of our biggest inspirations are now in their 30s! Our directors have changed, members of different crews and teams are leaving after countless years, and there are many who still have so much to learn, in terms of dance and in their own respective teams histories. I can only say so much, as I myself am a newbie to this community, but I am motivated nonetheless to make an impact with my dance family here, and wherever life takes us. I hope that after watching this video, the different teams, crews and dance collectives here in our region will do the same, if not BETTER. Theres so much talent in the East Coast that the world needs to see, and if this video inspires anyone to start sharing those talents, then weve done our job. A new generation has emerged, and its up to ALL OF US to take control of this communitys destiny.
