When I woke up at dawn this morning, everything about the CD36 - TopicsExpress

When I woke up at dawn this morning, everything about the CD36 race was decidedly clearer. Some would have you believe that this race is about rural counties versus Harris County. I thought it was about that too when I ran my race. This really is wrong. It implies a certain shallowness in the thinking of those who dont live in Harris County -- a shallowness that I really find hard to believe really exists in spite of its promotion by some from Hardin County. This notion that you cant represent Conservative values best unless you live in the rural part of the district is as pernicious as the victim culture promoted by Democrats. If anyone in the 21st century truly believes that where you live matters more than the content of your character and your unwavering commitment to the values we all hold dear, then you will be sorely disappointed when the candidate you vote for forgets his roots. If living in the rural part of the district is the only thing a candidate has going for him, that really is not a basis for sending him to represent us in the Federal Government. Ted Cruz is from Harris County, not the rural counties, but I would say he represents all of our values quite well. Ben Steusand will be the same type of Conservative leader. This race is really about who can best represent the conservative movement in Congress. It really doesnt get any harder than that. And I sincerely believe that the good people who live, as I do, outside of Harris County, will not believe they have to have one of their own and realize that conservative values transcend where you live. You either have them or your dont. Ben Streusand is a solid Conservative with massive Tea Party support and support from Conservative leaders like Ted Poe. Who supports his opponent? Status quo Washington-insider Republicans like Pete Olsen. Do the good people of any county in CD 36 really believe that the values of Washington insiders represent any part of CD 36? No, because we are smart enough to realize that when the establishment Republicans support a candidate, that candidate is not likely to rock the boat. That candidate likely has no core principles. Living in Tyler County is simply not enough for some people to learn Conservative principles, apparently. In spite of being a dentist, Brian Babin is simply incapable of drilling deeply into any issue of concern to CD 36. Ben Streusand is more talented, more thoughtful, and decidedly more Conservative. For those reasons, I support Ben and urge you to do the same.
